Nigeria has serious issues regarding waste disposal. FMO wants to turn this waste into usable energy for a local infrastructure project in Nigeria. The project is still in an early stage, which means that you can play a big role in the development project. Are you up for a challenge?

Transparent and responsible impact

FMO is the Dutch Development Bank. FMO's Dutch Business department co-invests together with Dutch companies, finances export transactions and supports development of early-stage projects. We invest in over 85 countries, supporting jobs and generating income to improve people’s lives in the parts of the world where we can make the biggest difference. Our role extends beyond financing, as we help businesses to operate and grow transparently in an environmentally and socially responsible manner.

Energy as a key focus sector

FMO finances commercially viable businesses and projects in key sectors for development. We offer financing in the form of loans, equity investments and guarantees to encourage sustainable growth. Energy is a key sector for the FMO, especially in the areas of energy generation and distribution, putting the emphasis on renewable energy. We have built up a strong track record of investing in energy projects across a range of technologies in Africa, Asia and Latin-America. Our newest project involves energy generation using municipal waste.

Help us to bring this project to life!

What do we need to realize this waste-to-energy project? We are looking for parties involved in waste management/waste to energy - such as project developers -, waste management companies, technology suppliers, or consultants that are interested in working on an innovative project in Nigeria. As this concerns a very early stage concept, not much further information is available. We want to invite you to share your experiences and knowledge for further development of the project.

What can you expect from us?

As a partner for this FMO project, we can offer you matchmaking services, support for project development and potential financing. We will be working in close collaboration on this innovative project.

Do you want to generate meaningful impact in Nigeria? We are happy to hear from you! You can contact Anton van Elteren ([email protected]).
